Our chocolate bar combines 100% organic Psilocybe natalensis with ethically sourced 70% dark cacao. Each bar is scored into 5 uniform squares, every one holding a precise 500mg dose, so there’s no estimating or splitting involved.

We chose Psilocybe natalensis deliberately. Where common cubensis varieties can carry an unpredictable body load, natalensis is consistently recognised for a cleaner, more coherent, and more lucid profile. Paired with precision dosing, that consistency makes the bar easier to plan around, whether you’re taking a single square or working up toward a full experience.

A Note on the Name

You may see this species referred to by a few different names, including Psilocybe natalensis, Natal Super Strength (NSS), and more recently Psilocybe ochraceocentrata. Recent genetic work in the mycology community found that most of what’s commercially sold and cultivated as “P. natalensis” (including the strain known as NSS) is actually genetically closer to a separate, newly described species: P. ochraceocentrata. We use “natalensis” here since it’s still the most recognized term, but don’t be surprised if you see all three names referring to the same mushroom.

Dosing Guide

• 1 Square (500mg): A light dose. A gentle introduction to the strain’s effects, or a lighter session for those with some experience.
• 2 Squares (1.0g): A moderate, intentional experience. Mild perceptual shifts, enhanced emotional openness, and heightened sensory awareness.
• 3 Squares (1.5g): A full moderate dose. Recommended for experienced users in a comfortable, prepared setting.
• 4 to 5 Squares (2.0g to 2.5g, full bar): A high dose or full experience. For experienced users only. Set, setting, and a trusted guide or trip sitter are strongly advised.

What to Expect

The onset with a chocolate-based preparation typically runs slightly longer than raw mushrooms, usually between 30 and 60 minutes depending on your metabolism and whether you’ve eaten recently. Start with your intended dose and give it a full hour before reassessing. The cacao base tends to produce a smoother come-up than raw preparations, which most people find more comfortable at moderate to higher doses.

Because natalensis tends toward a cleaner profile, the experience is generally less chaotic than cubensis at equivalent doses. Expect clarity, emotional warmth, and perceptual shifts that feel coherent rather than overwhelming.
