Psilocybe natalensis, widely known in the community as Natal Super Strength (NSS), is a South African psilocybin species that’s been gaining serious attention as an alternative to the more common cubensis strains. Users consistently report a warmer, more euphoric body feeling, richer visuals, and a grounded introspective quality that feels distinct from a typical cubensis experience.
Our natalensis is grown in-house in Ontario, dried whole, and handled with care from cultivation to packaging. No fillers, no mystery suppliers, no shortcuts.
Available in 3.5g, 7g, 14g, and 28g.
A Note on the Name
You may see this species referred to by a few different names — Psilocybe natalensis, Natal Super Strength (NSS), and more recently Psilocybe ochraceocentrata. Recent genetic work in the mycology community found that most of what’s commercially sold and cultivated as “P. natalensis” (including the strain known as NSS) is actually genetically closer to a separate, newly described species: P. ochraceocentrata. The names are used interchangeably in the market, and we use “natalensis” here since it’s still the most recognized term, but don’t be surprised if you see all three names referring to the same mushroom.
How It Compares to Golden Teacher
Most magic mushrooms sold in Canada are Psilocybe cubensis, with Golden Teacher being the most common strain. Natalensis (NSS) is a different species entirely, and is widely regarded as noticeably more potent, gram for gram, than Golden Teacher. The come-up tends to be faster and sharper, the effects feel warmer and more body-forward, and visuals are often described as more vivid and fluid. If you’ve done Golden Teacher before and want something stronger and a bit different, natalensis is a worthwhile step up. Just dose more conservatively than you would with cubensis.
Dosing Guide
Because natalensis runs stronger than typical cubensis strains, we recommend starting low, especially on your first try.
- 0.5g to 1g: mild, good starting point for first timers or those sensitive to psychedelics
- 1g to 2g: light to moderate, noticeable effects without being overwhelming
- 2g to 3.5g: moderate to strong, full psychedelic experience with visuals and introspection
- 3.5g+: strong, recommended for experienced users only
A 3.5g bag is a solid starting point if you’re new to natalensis. A 7g bag gives you two comfortable sessions. The 14g and 28g options are for experienced users.
Storage
Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct light. An airtight container with a silica gel packet extends shelf life significantly. Properly stored dried mushrooms remain potent for a year or more.
Shipping
Orders ship discreetly across Canada in plain, unmarked packaging with no indication of contents. Payment via Interac e-Transfer. Most orders arrive within 3 to 7 business days.

Jason –
Tried the 3.5g last weekend. Effects came on pretty smooth, felt more in the body than I expected compared to what I’ve done before. Visuals were pretty strong actually, wasn’t expecting that from 3.5. Overall good experience. Will order again.

Finally back from vacation to make a well deserved review, firstly this was genuinely some of the tastiest mushrooms I’ve ever tried, which isn’t something I’ve would ever expect with magic mushrooms. You could tell it’s extremely fresh. My boyfriend and I tried 3.5grams each, we didn’t fast before the trip but the onset was very fast around 20 minutes after ingesting. The body high was pleasant unlike the usual cubensis. The trip was very good, The visuals were pretty strong more than I expected though it only added to the experience. You could really tell this is some great quality shrooms. I’ve done Natalensis before, so far this batch is the absolute best one I’ve tried. The customer service was fantastic I truly enjoyed our the interaction. Will most definitely order again.
